Not depart from it

I would like to take a minute and thank my parents for their training in my life. I would not be the person that I am today without their guidance and protection. From an early age, they have followed Gods plan for disciplining me, and looking back I am very grateful for their convictions in this area. They have always sought The Lord and His parenting plan. They have allowed for me to find my own convictions, and to pack my own faith bag, but whenever I struggle, their guiding hand is always there to help me. Yes, I'm an adult now (LOL), but I appreciate their wisdom and guidance even more now as I have bigger things to face. Just because I'm "18" doesn't give me free reign to do whatever I want.  I will always be under authority. That's why Dad and Mom stress honoring and respecting the authority of parents through childhood. Thank you, Dad and Mom....
Like a good friend of mine said, "just a minute ago I was without a care in the world playing cowboys & Indians....now I'm looking for a job." How short life is.

by the fireside

Here are a couple snapshots from this morning...
And then when I came home from work, we had a lovely campfire supper, with hotdogs, s'mores and all!

Jonathan David

Jonathan is a ball of energy to say the least. He is a constant source of laughter and fun, coming out with the most random, hilarious things. Just the other day, we were talking about our hairdresser who came to our house. Jon, who'd had nothing to do with the conversation, said, "....is that the lady who came and spray-painted moms hair?"
He loves all things outside, forts and camp outs. He loves to create, and can see the finished product even before he starts.
It won't be very long before he's taller than me, and he's rapidly getting stronger. :)
Jonny is a joy to be around, and I am every day grateful for his presence in our family. What would our lives be like without him? His uncanny way of lightening the mood and starting bouts of contagious laughter come in very handy.
Jon has a heart for The Lord and a true desire to please Him. He is very sensitive to the prompting of the Holy Spirit and many times points out things to the rest of the family that we have never seen before.

Thank you, Lord, for the precious gift of Jonathan!
